The shocking serial killer case of Lu Xiaolong (Liêu Siêu) in Hangzhou, China, which began in February 1999.
Discovery of the Body (0:29 - 2:07): On February 22, 1999, a security guard discovered the dismembered body of a female accountant (Ms. Liu) on the 11th floor of an office building in Xihu District. She had been murdered two days prior.
The Prime Suspect (2:47 - 3:52): Lu Xiaolong, a security guard on duty at the time, became the prime suspect after vanishing inexplicably.
Profile of a Monster (3:56 - 7:22): Born in 1976, he was overly spoiled by his family, leading to a severely distorted personality. He joined the military but was dishonorably discharged for misconduct. After his girlfriend broke up with him, he developed a sinister urge to commit murder just to "experience the thrill."
The Crime (8:31 - 11:23): He brutally murdered Ms. Liu, dismembered her body, and even committed the twisted act of tasting her flesh before fleeing across China.
A Cat-and-Mouse Game (11:26 - 19:19): While on the run, Lu Xiaolong repeatedly sent mocking letters to the police, boasting about his next crimes (including the murder of a female receptionist in Jiangshan in 2000). Armed with a homemade gun, he committed multiple robberies and sexual assaults during his evasion.
Arrest and Justice (19:20 - 23:36): After 5 years on the wanted list, police captured Lu Xiaolong on February 9, 2004, in Fujian province thanks to a tip-off. He was sentenced to death and executed in 2005.
